WHO WE ARE
For the last 25 years, Urban Specialists has been putting in that work. We are a national organization focused on eliminating the culture of violence in Urban America by creating catalytic citizens that can advance positive change and peace in disadvantaged communities.
In 2018, Urban Specialists launched OGU to recruit & train influencers to stop senseless violence in the streets. National studies report that “Homicide remains the third leading cause of death for young people ages 15 to 24 with a stark increase in rates for young people of color.”
We teach individuals how to invade Urban Culture to disrupt toxic elements with alternative life experiences and opportunity. You can use your power of influence to transform values and ideas, instituting positive beliefs and behaviors. One person’s transformation can have a ripple effect on others. Citizens are empowered to end victimhood and take control of their own lives and their own neighborhoods to end the cycles of violence and poverty plaguing our communities.
